Admiral Phil Davidson, U.S. Navy (retired)

Admiral Phil Davidson is a retired four-star Admiral in the U.S. Navy. He was the 25th Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command in Honolulu, HI from 2018 to 2021. USINDOPACOM is the United States’ oldest and largest military operating (combatant) command, numbering some 380,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, Guardians, Coast Guardsmen and other civilian personnel, and is responsible for all U.S. military activities in the Indo-Pacific region, covering more than half the globe and over fifty percent of the world’s population.

In his nearly 39 years of naval service, he also commanded U.S. Fleet Forces Command in the Atlantic, U.S. SIXTH FLEET and STRIKFORNATO in Europe, as well as a carrier strike group, a cruiser and a frigate, and he held assignments in the White House, the U.S. Department of State, the Pentagon, and every major geographic fleet headquarters in the U.S. Navy. In addition to private sector work in defense, critical infrastructure, health and energy, Admiral Davidson serves on Military Advisory Groups at both the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA and the U.S. Institute of Peace. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
